MuseScore 4.1.1 download the new1/27/2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() This behavior is consistent on my system. When I start playback with the MS Basic Piccolo and switch to the Muse Sounds Piccolo, the piccolo part goes out of sync, lagging behind the rest of the score by a couple bars, and the rest of the parts can play past bar 21, however when the piccolo arrives at bar 21, beat 3.5, the program crashes. When using MS Basic, there's no crash, even when the entire rest of the orchestra is using Muse Sounds (including two flutes). The crash happens at the same point in the piccolo part (bar 21, beat 3.5) but again only when the piccolo is using the new Muse Sound Piccolo. I've attempted to isolate as many variables as possible: It always crashes at the same place, BUT ONLY when the Piccolo part is set to use Muse Sounds instead of MS Basic. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Muse Score and all Muse Sound packs. Note: Sound settings in the Mixer are saved with the score, but not to the program.Started having this issue last night. If you are using VST1 or VST2, see How to use older, non-VST3 plugins in MuseScore 4. MuseScore 4 directly supports VST3 plugins only (not VST1 or VST2) because of licensing restrictions. On Windows 10 the relevant file can be found atĬ:\Users\ \AppData\Local\MuseScore\MuseScore4\known_audio_plugins.json If this doesn't work, you can force a re-scan of VSTs by deleting previous cache settings before restarting. Note that Linux is not yet supported (but see Linux VST3).Īfter installing new VSTs on your computer, you may have to restart Musescore 4 to make them visible in the mixer. In MuseScore 4, any compatible VST plugins installed on a Windows or MacOS computer will automatically be made available in the Mixer, where you can easily configure playback settings for all instruments in a score. Most VST plugins are either instruments (VSTi) or effects (VSTfx) VSTi includes software simulation emulations of well-known hardware synthesizers and samplers. ![]() Virtual Studio Technology ( VST) is an audio plug-in software interface licensed under Steinberg that integrates software synthesizers and effects units into digital audio workstations. ![]()
